Job Description


Safely drives route truck over assigned route to sell, deliver, and merchandise products, as well as provide excellent customer service to a variety of grocery, mass merchandise, and independent chain stores.

The workweek will usually consist of 50+ hours, Monday through Friday.

Sell, deliver, stock and merchandise to grocery retail and independent chain stores.

Progressively increase current customer sales volume. This includes and is not limited to:

* Building relationships with key decision makers

* Progressively increase customer base by soliciting new accounts.

* Execute company sponsored promotional programs by acquiring temporary and incremental product displays, shelving, and permanent merchandising fixtures.

* Process orders by entering product codes into hand-held computers.

* Collect cash from customers and accurately process associated invoices and paperwork.

* safely operate step-van delivery truck.

* Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle safety inspection.

* Manage daily accuracy of product inventory.

* Maintain a clean and organized truck.

* Attends and participates in all safety meetings and is committed to working safely including use of seat belt while in company vehicle.

* Use of Hands Free Device while driving a company vehicle.

* Drive a step-van delivery truck that may or may not be straight-stick shift.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years of recent, relevant, related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Preferred relevant or related experience could include prior sales, retail, or customer service related experience.

Mathematical Skills

Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Use held-hand computer.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence with an excellent driving record.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be able to read, write, understand and speak English.

Display evidence of sound judgment and have the ability to adapt quickly to different work and driving conditions.

Possess good communication and persuasion skills.

Other Qualifications

Must pass a job-related assessment with a score of 70% or better. Must pass a DOT physical. Must possess a stable work history with good references.
