Job Description

What will you be doing?
Disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, and re-assembly of tools and tool components.
Following the preventive maintenance plan set out for the tooling.
Tool changes and setting in adherence to the production plan.
Tool set-up to the last known best parameters for the tool. 
Ensuring that the first-off sample matches the correct specification for the production plan.
Controlling press parameters to minimize waste.
Clearance and resetting of tools after issues and prevention of downtime through monitoring and setting adjustments.
Responsible for rectifying any quality issues where possible; escalating anything deemed as a risk to the Tooling & Maintenance Supervisor
Ensuring production efficiency is maintained by reacting to presses when stopped and correcting any faults to ensure they are restarted in a safe and timely.
Ensuring the presses, tools, auxiliary equipment, and production area are kept in a clean and safe condition.
Reporting any faults or at-risk conditions with the machinery or working conditions to ensure they are rectified to maintain a safe workplace.
Ensuring all tasks are carried in a safe and professional manner following SOP’s.
Support production activities to meet overall objectives.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve safety and productivity.
Participate in individual and team based continuous activities.
What do you bring?
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Press tool or other industrial tool setting experience.
Counterbalance forklift license or willingness to learn.
Tool and Die training or certificate an asset but not required
Packaging industry experience
Metal forming experience an asset
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Adaptable enough to improve the working environment through continuous improvement.
Driven problem solver.
Mechanical Aptitude, enjoys hands on work
Desire to learn and train others.
