Warehouse Supervisor

Job Description

* Supervises all aspects of materials, warehouse, receiving and shipping

* Responsible for meetings

* Responsible for customer support, problem solving, and continuous improvement

* Primary Responsibilities *General Duties*

* Ensures all Health & Safety rules are observed, including orientation and Health & Safety specific training

* Supervises, directs and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in material handling and warehouse activities relative to all material through team leads and material handlers

* Conducts daily pre-shift meetings as required

* Maintains/updates SPQRCE board daily

* Ensures all material is processed per instructions to maintain inventory accuracy

* Expedites the processing of shortages/backorders and ensures delivery internally to Spencer/Butcher Group and externally to Customer

* Follows up on all Material Complaint Notices received from the customer to ensure effective elimination of root causes of noncompliance and retraining as required

* Ensures all daily reports are received from team leader(s) or support staff

* Ensures daily Supervisor Shift Report is completed accurately and submitted on-time to the Operations Manager

* Ensures cleanliness and good Housekeeping practices are employed using 6-S principles

* Ensures daily reports are submitted to Operations Manager

* Liaises/communicates with customers on operational delays and quality related issues

* Attends customer and corporate meetings as required

* Actively participates in monthly KPI meetings

* Opens and/or closes the facility as required

* Accountable for requesting approval and staffing for overtime when needed

* Provides on-call service to customer and responds to after hour requests

* Recommends and participates in Continuous Improvement Initiatives


* Supervises the activities of all material department employees

* Responsible for personnel requirements such as training, evaluation reviews, and disciplinary actions

* Conducts daily operational meetings

* Ensures employees receive process, quality, health & safety and administrative orientation training

* Delegates responsibilities to team leaders and material handlers


* Liaises with customer logistics group to ensure knowledge of upcoming schedules

* Ensures all on-site material is organized in a FIFO manner

* Ensures all on-site material is shipped internally or externally as per shipment and build procedures

* Ensures maintenance of all material handling equipment through Preventative Maintenance Plan


* Operates within corporate guidelines of the Business Management System

* Supports implementation and maintenance of ISO/TS certification programs

* Liaison with customer on quality related issues

* Conduct process audits to ensure effective implementation of quality system

* Ensure problem resolution process is implemented and effective

* Ensures quality records are properly recorded and submitted

* Review Quality System metrics scorecard daily, weekly and monthly to ensure all targets are being met

* Ensure corrective actions (using problem resolution process) are applied where results are not meeting target goals and objectives


* Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

Skill/Experience Level:

* Minimum 3 years of experience in or around a similar work environment

* Team building experience
