What will you be doing?
* Set up and maintain shop tools and equipment; learn to set up and maintain new tools and equipment as required;
* Use overhead and gantry cranes efficiently and safely and exhibit safe rigging practices;
* Read and understand shop drawings to enable independent work;
* Must be able to read tape measure correctly;
* Able to MIG (steel and aluminum) and manual plasma cutting;
* Able to set up welding machines to weld different thicknesses of material;
* Ensure work is tacked, squared and correct to the drawing before completing welds;
* Work performed should be accurate and finished so that Paint shop has minimal cleanup; all sharp edges deburred/sanded and welds cleaned;
* Be capable of taking all work order packages from start to finish with minimal assistance (aluminum and steel) in a timely manner;
* Document material usage and scrap correctly;
* Stack parts for easy access for the next operation and label both parts and skids/containers correctly.
What do you bring?
* Stamina and strength to perform manual labor;
* Certified or willing to obtain CWB certification in aluminum and steel;
* Able to interpret welding symbols;
* Able to learn quickly and progress at a reasonable pace;
* High school diploma/GED preferred;
* Team focused and task oriented;
