Job Description

Our growing Burlington client who is a leader in automotive manufacturing is looking for a Welding/ Stamping Production Supervisor to join their team for the Straight Night Shift.. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-5 years related experience and ideally some Welding background. The following are the responsibilities:



Directly supervises personnel in their respective department in such a manner that approved quality products are manufactured, packed, checked and shipped in accordance with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and company rules.



2 RESPONSIBILITIES



2.1 Implement necessary communication strategies for the improvement and awareness of company strategy as they pertain to your department. This could be quality, health and safety, environmental, continuous improvement, etc.

2.2 Manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff according to company procedures, policies and employment laws.

2.3 Responsible for the carrying out the schedule as outlined by the Master Scheduler, and ensuring all equipment is running as per the identified schedule.

2.4 Responsible for the training of all new employees (both temporary and permanent). This includes ensuring training documentation is completed within the designated timelines, and submitted to HR for tracking.

2.5 Manage all employee vacation requests and issue approvals/denials based on department needs.

2.6 Accountable for ensuring that timely assessment of accidents/incidents, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary, from the assessment are carried out. Be involved with the implementation of the Early & Safe Return to Work Plan and follow-ups.

2.7 Identify manpower gaps and request necessary support from HR to ensure all vacancies are filled (whether its through the use of temporary agency employees or permanent direct hires).

2.8 Responsible for ensuring that all employees abide by all established policies and procedures (for production & safety), and issue discipline as appropriate for failure to follow the established standards.

2.9 Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate, advise or assist according to performance levels.

2.10 Accountable for ensuring that the necessary equipment, materials and protective devices prescribed by Company policies/procedures are provided, understood and used properly.

2.11 Meet Continuous Improvement goals yearly as set forth by the Plant Manager.

2.12 Manage the movement of products/equipment/materials in and/or out of the department in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

2.13 Supervisors/Managers will assume the responsibilities of ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and are within drawing and customer specifications.

2.14 Develop personal skills and capability through ongoing training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Company approval. Attend meetings and participate on committees as required.

2.15 Operate a variety of machines and equipment (i.e.: forklift, hand trucks, crane) based on department requirements.

2.16 Occupational Health and Safety Act (OH&SA)



Straight Nights- Sun-Thurs 10pm-6am



Hourly wage- $38-$40/hr plus $1 shift premium Plus Benefits
