Job Summary
The Workforce Manager position supports the safety and wellbeing of Abbott Laboratories essential personnel through coordinating and validating a team of roughly 30 Temperature Screeners across four Twin Cities sites and one site in Atlanta Georgia. Temperature Screeners man every entrance across these sites during hours of operation to ensure every employee, contractor, and visitor follows a strict entrance protocol including a check for fever and providing proof of a weekly, Abbott-provided COVID-19 test.
The Workforce Manager position is responsible for the training, scheduling, and ongoing performance management of the Temperature Screener team. This includes both in-person hands-on observation, as well as remote delegation to Lead Screeners at each site. The Workforce Manager is also responsible for personally covering screening shifts as needed.
In addition to working with Manpower associates, the Workforce Manager will also serve as the liaison to Abbott Laboratories site staff for all communication related to the Screening process. This includes updating the Screening team on new protocols, addressing feedback on Screeners from site personnel, collecting and reporting compliance data, and being the emergency contact in case of a Screener no-show.
Responsibilities and Duties
*Manage a diverse team of over 30 Temperature Screeners across sites in Minnesota (Plymouth, Minnetonka, Little Canada) and Atlanta, Georgia.
*Schedule weekly Screener coverage, and adjust schedule based on site requirements.
*Leverage Lead Screeners at each site to validate daily attendance and program execution.
*Respond promptly to feedback from both Abbott and Manpower personnel.
*Collect and report on program compliance as requested by Abbott.
*Communicate with on-site Abbott personnel regarding facilities concerns such as supply needs or technology issues.
*Coordinate with Manpower recruiting team to urgently address and staffing opportunities as they arise.
*Be available as emergency point of contact for attendance and no-show communication for both first and second shifts (3:00am CST - 6:00pm CST). Respond in person to no-shows when no Screener is available.
*This position requires a mixture of in-person and remote work.
Qualifications and Skills
*Demonstrated ability to manage talent (1-2 years minimum, with multi-unit or remote management experience a plus)
*Strong Communication Skills
*Reliable transportation around the Twin Cities Area
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Onedrive, Sharepoint, Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.
