    The Presort Operator I is responsible for ensuring that all mailing runs are sorted, prepared, and shipped appropriately and on time, according to customer requirements and company standard operating procedures.
    JOB DESCRIPTION:
    Operation of Bowe Bell, Howell Sorting Machine, Other Equipment:
     Performs basic operation of sorting machine
     Maneuvers mail cages with a full loads (approx. 1,315 lbs.)
     Loads mail onto Howell Sorting machine for sorting
     Sweeps sorted mail from designated bins
     Places sorted mail into designated mail trays by zip code
     Places zip code tray tags onto designated mail trays
     Places sleeves over mail trays to keep sorted mail together
     Operates strapping machine and straps completed mail trays to ensure the covers remain in place
     Places completed mail trays onto designated pallets (approx. 30 lbs. each)
     Follows standard operating procedures of the Mailing Department to ensure safe and timely operation of sorting equipment and other machines
    Work Floor Maintenance:
     Blows cleans exterior of machines
     Ensures clean and organized work space; sweeps work floor
    Other Duties:
     Performs other Mailing Department related job tasks
     Helps and assists other Operation's divisions with their job tasks
