Job Description

A well-established family owned manufacturing company in York, PA has a direct hire opportunity for a Custom Manufacturing Manager. This position: plans, directs, implements and tracks standard operating procedures, initiatives and goals for all plant operations & departments (45-50 person work force with 6 Department Supervisors and backed by an Engineering Department).


* Provide overall leadership to accomplish Company goals and objectives (on time deliveries, quality assurance and manufacturing profitability)

* Direct, manage and make day-to-day decisions coordinating with department supervisors regarding personnel scheduling, operations, maintenance and quality

* Adjust standard operation procedures for efficient manufacturing processes

* Identify & develop goals and objectives for manufacturing department supervisors

* Work with supervisors and HR in identifying proper staffing requirements

* Plan and Coordinate the maintenance, upgrades and replacement to companywide facilities and capital equipment.

* Responsible for the company's overall floor organization and facility cleanliness.

* Serve on the Company's Safety Committee -enforce a safety conscious environment

* Identify and develop a cross training program

* Identify and groom talent for succession into key positions

* Work with engineering, estimating and sales in reviewing and identifying manufacturing processes for existing and potential new business to insure profitability and quality objectives are met.

* Help prepare and participate in assigned personnel's annual performance reviews.

Qualifications include:

* Education: College graduate combined with relevant experience

* 5+ years in "custom" manufacturing management (custom metals preferred)

* Strong skills in: Leadership, Communication, Decision making, Problem Solving/Analysis

* Traits: Approachable, fair minded, works well with others

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite & familiar with ERP systems (Syteline a plus!)

* Ability to read & comprehend P&L statements (prepare and operate within budget)

* Able to stand and walk with occasional sitting, bending, stooping or crouching. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
