Job Description

Building Facilities Technician

Job Responsibilities:

* Perform basic maintenance activities such as (but not limited to) changing light bulbs, plumbing repairs, electrical device installations, temperature adjustments, wall/door repairs,

painting and monthly filter change outs.

* Performs preventive maintenance and monthly safety inspections of assigned buildings, reporting any maintenance issues to Facilities Manager promptly.

* Ability to assist in conference room set-ups/tear-downs, internal moves, white/cork board installations.

* Collaborates with other departments as necessary to meet customer requirements.

* Performs detailed and accurate record keeping.

* Handle materials, including operating a fork lift.

* Promotes effective work practices, works as a team member, and shows respect for co-workers.

* Supports the overall goal of maintaining, a neat, clean, and comfortable work environment.

* Performs other duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Communicates both orally and written in a clear and concise manner.

* Required to read, understand and work from Standard Operating Procedures.

* Required to supervise contractors and vendors performing work in the facility as needed.

* Follows Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.


* High school diploma with a minimum of 3 years experience as facilities technician or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

* Physical requirements include climbing ladders (not over 1 story high), extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts.

* Will need to work outside, inside, walking building and grounds. Exposure to exterior elements including cold, wind, and heat.

* Solid written and verbal communication skills.

* Self-motivated.

* Ability to work under pressure and be flexible with their time.

* Ability to prioritize and document tasks with little to no supervision.

* In depth knowledge of OSHA regulations.
