Job Description

Location: Palo Alto, CA (relocation package not available)Title: CarpenterShift: DaysDuration: Direct HireSalary: $70k - $78K, plus benefitsIndustry: Commercial, Residential and Hospital

The Carpenter is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of architectural and structural elements of the building, including all wood products or associated equipment.

Essential Functions:

* Builds, and installs lockers, cabinets, doors, and partitions for offices, examining rooms, etc., as requisitioned and does remodeling and alteration work.

* Keeps record of time spent per job, and lumber and hardware, used.

* Maintains smoke and fire partitions.

* May lay new flooring of linoleum, asphalt, rubber, or vinyl tile. Patches floors of any type, replacing worn spots.

* Performs all re-glazing tasks within capabilities of shop tools and equipment, and according to recognized trade standards.

* Repairs furniture, including desks, tables, chairs. Repairs locks and latches, also installs new locks as necessary. Repairs and replaces door checks, repairs various mill works such as moldings, sashes, doors, cornices, floors, and stairways.

* Repairs Venetian blinds, installs new slats, tapes, and pull cords. Repairs and/or makes roller type shades.

* Replaces sash balance cords and re-glazes broken sash.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in commercial and residential

License/Certification: CDL California Driver's License
