Job Description

To assure product meets company standards
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs:
The person in this position will be responsible for:
Able to work 12 hour shifts for two to three days in a row consistently
Able to stay on feet for the majority of the shift while walking, climbing stairs and lifting up to 50 lbs on occasions
Inspect coated printing plates for any visible defects
Remove coating and inspect aluminum substrate on top and bottom of the plate; test roughness and optical density of the surface from which coating was removed
Measure anodic film g/m2
Test coating weight across the plate width
Depends on type of product use analog imager or laser imager/digital product to test further quality of the printing plates
Operate plate processing equipment
Monitor production lines chemistry temperature, water quality, water pressure
Adjust production lines coater to correct out of specifications coating weight
Assist production in troubleshooting problems related to product quality
Keep required records throughout the shift
Create and maintain a safe working environment; to include effective housekeeping at all times
Develop a positive relationship with all department personnel
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Computer Literacy required for the job:
Good verbal and written communication skill
Good math skills, calculation of %, etc.
Ability to work independently and working in teams

Strong attention to details
Ability to read a ruler, micrometer, laboratory balance (0.0001 accuracy)
Mechanical Aptitude
Ability to read and follow instructions
Technically inclined, manufacturing/QC experience
Basic if possible chemistry knowledge (base and acid understanding)
Some metric measurements knowledge, computer knowledge (i.e.; we have a computerized imager)
Required Education and Work Experience:
Associate Degree and/or equivalent work experience in industrial manufacturing preferred.
Working Environment and Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk, stand or sit as necessary.
Must be capable of performing tasks requiring repetitive twisting, bending and stooping
Ability to use a keyboard to enter, retrieve or transform data on a computer.
Ability to read, comprehends, and speak English and be able to demonstrate at least twelfth grade reading skills.
