Job Description

CNC Operator/Programmer

With over 60 years of experience in the Alberta marketplace, Manpower specializes in matching great talent with great companies. In tandem with our client, an Oil and Gas company, Manpower is seeking a CNC Operator/ Programmer, to fulfill a permanent contract in Fort McMurray. Regular shift rotations are Monday to Friday, between 7:30am to 4:00pm; however, hours, schedules and locations may change from time to time due to operational, client and training requirements.

This is a local position to the Fort McMurray, Alberta region. No accommodations or flights will be provided.

In this role you will:
* Program CNC machinery as required
* Operate CNC machines with FANUC controls
* Fulfill training programs deemed necessary to allow efficient performance of duties
* Work to specific customer drawings and specifications with minimum supervision
* Complete routine generated work order requests
* Prove out programs at the machine ensuring the highest quality is maintained always
* Duties as they may arise that would fulfill the mandate of providing excellent service to the client

To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Alberta Certified Journeyman or Interprovincial Red Seal in Machinist trade
* 3-5 years programming experience (industrial maintenance/construction environment preferred)
* Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean abstract
* Strong experience with FANUC controls is required
* GIBBScam Training considered a strong asset
* Highly developed organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce
* Strong team player skills and the ability to work independently
* Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks
* Sensitive to issues of confidentiality and compliance
* Ability to complete all work in compliance with Alberta legislation, regulations and site policies and procedures
* Proven ability to work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines
* Must be able to pass comprehensive Drug, Alcohol and Audiometric pre-employment testing
* Must have CSTS and OSSA certificates or OSSA BSO certificate
* Class 5 Driver's Licence with clean 5-year history driver's abstract obtained within 30 days required
* Must be able to provide credentials of trade prior to or at the interview stage
* Must be eligible to work on all Oil Sands sites within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
