Job Description

Knows and applies a variety of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. Works under general supervision performing tasks that are varied and somewhat complex in nature. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals that require a considerable degree of evaluation, originality, latitude, and independent judgment.

VII. Job Summary: Designs and develops assembly tooling that will be built at local tool shops or in-house, and assists Equipment Engineers from a design standpoint.

VIII. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Designs and develops assembly equipment fixtures and tooling
2. Maintains the standard equipment design manual to be referenced in all Requests for Quotes
3. Maintains the standard work-cell designs
4. Maintains project time lines for each design
5. Works with equipment engineers and vendors to implement, build, and set-up equipment to be designed in-house
6. Maintains a detailed time log to capture the number of hours required for in-house tooling design
7. Tracks projects and updates Equipment Project Report, on a weekly basis, for all tooling
8. Works with equipment engineers to ensure proper design for ease of maintenance and work-ability
9. Provides training and support to equipment engineers for newly implemented equipment designs
10. Provides technical support for continuous improvement of production equipment and processes
11. Works with outside vendors on how to properly utilize/size purchased items
12. Performs other duties as assigned

IX. Requirements:
1. Education and Experience ― Must meet one of the following:
a. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering , Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline, plus 2 to 4 years of related manufacturing experience; OR
b. Associate's Degree in Engineering , Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline, plus 4 to 6 years of related manufacturing experience
2. Additional Experience ― Design experience with Inventor
3. Experience in equipment design engineering
