Job Description

Our client, in Fort Wayne, is seeking a General Manager to start immediately.


This position is in a machining plant.
Knowledge of machining is required.
Full leadership role for the plant
Data & results driven management style
Overseeing all production operations including:
All employees on all shifts.
Hiring / Firing of employees
Discipline of employees
Conduct employee meetings
Ensure compliance of quality policies and procedures
Provide job training
Enforce safety policies.
Must have strong organizational skills.
Proven ability to work cross functionally
Must be available to work overtime and weekends when needed
Minimum 10 years' management of scalable machining companies required.
Experience motivating employees to achieve a common goal of satisfying customers’ needs.
5S & Continuous Improvement leadership
Lean manufacturing principles
Production Systems & Controls
Delegate and assign daily job requirements to employees
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience with Microsoft Windows & Office products (Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, & Word)
Will communicate with customers, suppliers, and employees.
Quoting of machined parts required
Internal job routings
Coordinating and tracking job progress
Customer support and development
Travel to Customers and Suppliers (as needed)
Preferred Experience is some of these areas is beneficial:
Setup, operation, & programming of CNC machining centers (mills and lathes).
Read and interpret blueprints with GD&T tolerancing (required)
Experience with machining fixtures & gaging
Shift and hours required:
1st shift
6am or 7am start time
M-F (8hrs, 9hrs, or 10hrs per day)
Saturday’s (0hrs, 4hrs, 8hrs, or 10hrs)(depends on workload)
Sunday’s (occasionally)
