Job Description

Quality Technician with a privately held company, is a growing leader in contract precision machining, currently serving aerospace, defense, and small arms industries since 1996. We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Jr. Quality Tech / CMM Programmer to work in a fast-paced CNC manufacturing environment. The Company has received the Manufacturer of the Year and Exceptional Employer Awards! Temporary position with transition to permanent possible.

Position Responsibilities:
• Perform 1st article inspection of all new jobs.
• 1st piece inspection of all setups and authorize machines to run 1st piece.
• In process inspection using standard measurement and test equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gage, sine plate, and optical comparator.
• Resolve questionable quality matters in manufacturing.
• Determine and report on causes for quality defects.
• Document and maintain inspection reports on all setups.
• CMM Programming as needed.
• Assist in resolving problems relating to nonconforming products with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and quality.

Position Requirements:
• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of 1 yr. hands-on QC experience in a ISO Certified machining/ inspection work environment.
• 1-2 yrs. experience as CMM programmer preferred.
• ISO Certified QC Department experience required; AS9100 QC experience a plus.
• Knowledge and experience of 1st article inspection requirements.
• Able to read and understand blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
• Proficient in standard measuring and testing equipment.
• Must have experience with layout gauging
• Good communication skills; ability to train & assist other employees; capable of performing troubleshooting on process related issues.
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Office)
