Job Description

POSITION: Multi-Craft Level I/Mechanic



REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor



QUALIFICATIONS:



* High school diploma or equivalent and a passing grade on the TPC, practical, and the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test.

* Must be willing and able to attend and pass TPC training, community college courses, and specialized training to maintain proficiency as a part of the Continuous Improvement Program.

* Must be able to perform assigned jobs with accuracy and time limitations.

* Must be able to travel and work out of town.



PRIMARY DUTIES:



The primary duties of the employee are (but are not limited to) the following:



* All employees have the responsibility to identify and stop further processing of non-conformances and take action to prevent non-conformances related to products produced, processes, services provided or the Quality/Environmental Management System.

* All employees have the responsibility to bring forth suggestions and participate in continuous improvement process and verify the implementation of solutions.

* Learn to use blueprints, levels, transit, and other millwright related tools to install new and used machinery.

* Conform to all quality/safety/environmental requirements and procedures.

* Using prints and schematics, install and maintain electrical distribution, motor control systems, production and facility related machinery and equipment.

* Ability to proficiently and safely use all hand and portable tools.

* Develop torch and welding skills using stick, MIG, TIG, and plasma are through on the job training and community college courses.

* Fabricates steel framework and structures per blueprints

* Ability to troubleshoot and repair most production equipment, including roll changes and machine adjustments.

* Plan and prepare job material lists. Calculate motor and power loads.

* Using prints and schematics diagnose and maintain all production and facility related equipment. Using computer software, draw and modify electrical prints.

* Ability and willingness to learn and perform mechanical and pipefitting jobs as a part of the Multi-craft program

* Attend and pass at least one continuing education course each year.

* Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor/lead person.



Shift: 4:00 pm to 2:00am Monday thru Thursday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
