Job Description

The IT Business Partner/Senior IT Business Partner – R&D will be responsible for collaborating with the IT department and all business functions within the company. This position will support process definition and requirements gathering to support documentation of policies and procedures, implementation of best practices and delivery of IT solutions and systems to achieve corporate goals.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with business to define key business processes and requirements.

Project manager for new system/application implementations. Responsibilities include all phases of project management life cycle.

Manage relationships and negotiate contracts for external vendors delivering technology systems and support.

Liaison between business users and vendors to develop and improve processes and solutions to support end to end Research & Development functions.

Assist with fulfillment of compliance requirements.

Assist with data validation tasks, computer system validation and UAT script execution for projects as needed.

Assist the Research and Development functions with data governance as well as risk assessment and management.

Provide direction and influence for continuous improvement for existing processes leveraging technology.

Participate and provide support for IT tasks and responsibilities as necessary.


Bachelor degree in Information Systems or Life Science related field. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.

Eight to ten (8-10) years progressively responsible experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with a focus on Research and Development functions and processes is required.

Experience with implementing and overseeing life science solutions for clinical, quality, research, technical operations and regulatory affairs.

Strong understanding of computer system validation.

Knowledge of FDA regulatory requirements and guidelines.

Demonstrated ability to manage and work on multiple projects, deliver on commitments and work with multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to troubleshoot systems and applications issues as required.

Experience with SaaS environments and solutions preferred.

Must be customer service oriented and demonstrate a passion to assist and add value.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
