Job Description

A Project Manager opening is available with a world leading industrial company here in York, PA. This position has responsibility for executing major contracts awarded to the company for the original design or redesign and retrofit of equipment or systems. This includes establishing the basic design concept and seeing that the equipment is supplied and/or installed within budget and on schedule. The project manager must be able to apply their strong knowledge of contracts and contract law. An extensive background in large mechanical equipment is preferred including design, manufacturing, installation and operations. This individual must be skilled at recognizing solutions to customer's problems, selling the solution to the customer and seeing that the solution is installed within budget and schedule.
Position summary:
* Organizes incoming contracts and issues necessary announcements * Works with engineering staff to establish the design concepts * Coordinates the engineering work and effects resolution of problems * Establishes controls on budgets, cash flows, and schedules
* Effects resolution of subcontractor, interdepartmental, and client issues
* Participates with Buyer in selection and award of major subcontracts * Manages and coordinates fieldwork & documentation
* Negotiates contract close out with subcontractors and clients
* Encourages safety - Sees that all company and jobsite rules are followed
* Promotes positive company image with clients and vendors * Understands potential customer's needs and effectively proposes solutions
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business; or equivalent experience with 5+ years of project management business experience (with large mechanical equipment preferred)
* Must have working experience with interdepartmental teams: engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality control, construction, contracts, commercial terms, and scheduling and cost control.
* Excellent communications skills and the ability to motivate others are required: with Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, including public presentations
* Ability to read technical drawings/ schematics
* Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to understand issues domestically and internationally and communicate effectively with clients.
* Be self-directed and motivated -identify and anticipate customer needs
* Ability to move through manufacturing shops and field environments.
* SAP and MS Office proficient
