Job Description

The global leader in mobile diabetes treatment. We’ve eliminated the need for a finger prick (hey, the FDA says so) for Continuous Glucose Monitoring, and we’re the first company in the world to do so. We’re available on iOS and Android.

We push the boundaries of what’s possible in the mobile space. For example, we’re the first company in the world to put CGM on the Apple watch. You can also ask Tim Cook - he thought what we’re doing is so cool he mentioned us during Apple’s WWDC 2017 Keynote!
If you feel good about improving people’s lives, this job will make you want to wake up the morning. Imagine helping someone’s child with type 1 diabetes go to her first slumber party by herself!

In this role, you will be part of a growing technology team responsible for developing capability that will support all mobile apps. You will help move our existing build and release environment towards continuous integration. It’s partially automated, but you will automate everything. We want your opinion on the best technologies and methodologies. We need your help to take our mobile build pipeline to the next level!

As a Build Engineer you will:

Be a member of a self-organizing agile team

Work day-to-day with the team to ensure the stability of the build pipeline

Drive and manage the build process, integrating it with Jira, Bitbucket, and other systems

Automating the installation and upkeep of build tools and dependencies

Improving the reliability and performance of test and build processes

Follow internal software development procedure that complies with medical regulations

Ensure a high quality product

About You:

You are eager to collaborate with and learn from top tier engineers

You will be able to produce a high quality build system

You use scripts to automate the build process whenever possible

You’ve integrated builds with XCode and Android Studio

You’ve setup an automation server such as Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, etc.

You will have strong disciplines and experience in being agile (scrum, kanban or others)

You have strong opinions on the best practices in Continuous Integration

Git is the distributed version control system we use. Experience with other dependency tools will be highly valued

You proactively seek discussions for design direction when direction is not obvious

You will be able to work in a structured corporate company in a regulated industry, which entails a lot of documentation housekeeping

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a four-year college or university

Experience using Java and/or Swift as a build engineer

Experience with XCode and Android Studio

Experience with Gradle

Deep understanding of Git, including branching

Minimum 3 years of professional software development support

High degree of diligence in documentation, testing and coding
