Job Description


Seeking an experienced Programmer for our Burlingame, CA location. The Programmer draws and programs parts and assemblies for prototype and production. Unfolds customer computer print files or draws from print in order to program parts and assign tools for CNC Lasers and punches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide design assistance for products and product engineering drawings

Provide print generation capability from customer CAD files

Program parts for laser machine production

Nest parts as required on sheets or blanks to maximize material and production efficiency

Program and document revisions, as required

Assist with design of tooling and fixtures

Maintain laser program files on computer and files of set up sheets

Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner

Follow all safety rules and regulations

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and carry up to 25 lbs.

Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information (i.e: blue prints, flat pattern, drawings, etc)

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal/external customers

Ability to clearly communication information to all levels of organization

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Requires math skills; additions, subtraction, multiplication, division, and trigonometry to perform programming and flat pattern calculations

Demonstrate ability to use precision measurement equipment


Education and/or Experience

High School diploma, GED. technical school training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Previous experience as a CAD Programmer desired preferably in the precision sheet metal industry

Must have strong, demonstrated sustained working abilities in a fast paced production area

Mechanical aptitude required

Flat pattern skill required

Must have proven abilities in communication, organization, setting priorities, work well independently, and in a team environment, and be results-oriented

Able to adapt quickly to change and work under tight deadlines

Must be cooperative, willing to share knowledge, cross-train, take on additional responsibilities, lead teams, and hold self and others accountable

Experience with programming sheet metal

Proficient experience of SolidWorks

Possible experience in CAM Software Fabriwin

Knowledge of specific punch/laser manufacturing programming software
