Job Description

Manpower is looking for a Payroll professional with weekly and biweekly payroll processing experience

The job is located in Wilmington, MA Monday - Friday PAYING $18-$20 AN HOUR

This assignment is for 3-4 months


This position, under limited supervision, performs tasks of moderate complexity in the Corporate Payroll Department. Responsibilities include processing weekly, biweekly and off-cycle payroll for employees in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The Payroll Accounting Assistant will provide expertise and support in the completion of payroll processing.


* Process the payroll funding up to 2500+ employees within the U.S. on a weekly and bi-weekly basis; able to meet the payroll deadlines.

* Ability to research and resolve discrepancies through payroll processing.

* Assist in the process of payroll taxes withholding schedules closing.

* Generate payroll reports and analyze payroll's tax data and regulations.

* Prepare and reconcile special reporting schedules of vacation and other benefit payouts utilizing PeopleSoft payroll system.

* Process the payments for Garnishment, Union-Dues, Health Savings Account -HSA associated with the weekly payroll processing.

* Review and process employment changes; able to calculate payroll adjustments, and complete the necessary corrections to ensure accuracy.

* Complete file uploads and review and analyze data submitted through the HRMS.

* Ensure the maintenance of payroll records being in compliance with the company policies and procedures associated with wage & hour laws (Federal Labor Standards Act- FLSA, and other applicable requirements).

* Able to adapts and create procedures/processes to increase efficiency; execute special payroll projects while maintaining high quality, accuracy standards.

* Provide support to internal and external auditors by preparing the necessary payroll information packages; maintain an effective internal controls environment.

* Interact and provide support to the company's employees at all levels including off-site payroll locations.

* Research and respond to internal & external payroll inquiries.

* Participate and assist in the coordination of year-end processing; including relocation gross-up, bonus payouts and other year-end reporting schedules.

* Provide the necessary support to the payroll team (time-off request coverages).

* Ad hoc projects as needed.


* Detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task; excellent verbal & written communication and organizational skills.

* Ability to take ownership of the responsibilities associated with the role to meet payroll deadlines

* Proven ability to cross-train.

* Strong organizational, planning and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for both self and team to meet business requirements and deadlines.

* Ability to work in a time-sensitive and high volume environment.

* Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve business results.

* PeopleSoft experience/or large Payroll Software preferred


* High School Diploma/Associates Degree

* Minimum of 2-3 years of payroll processing experience

* Strong working knowledge of Payroll practices

* Computer Skills - PeopleSoft, MSOffice Excel (ability to adapt and learn other Business Software Applications).
