Job Description

Established plant located in Macungie is looking for a Medical Secretary/LPN for their occupational health department. Excellent opportunity to come aboard with a solid company.

Looking for a Front office medical staff person in an on-site Occupational Health and wellness department serving a large multi shift manufacturing facility. This position is involved in assisting with managing, planning, evaluating and executing comprehensive health and wellness, workers compensation, accident and sickness, and OSHA compliant testing and evaluations to a large employee population in an occupational health setting. This position requires extensive record keeping, organizing, and problem solving and time management. It also involves interpretation and communication of complex regulations and medical data and terminology.

Core Responsibilities- Serve as a first point of contact with all employees entering and exiting inside medical dispensary and actively participates in triaging all concerns and requests * Along with triaging customers, the Coordinator will schedule appointments with dispensary medical staff, diagnostic testing, and/or outside medical providers and coordinate with Plant management to minimize the disruption to production. Assist with assessment and treatment of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses * Assess and maintain patient medical records to ensure they are complete and accurate * Review and process return to work forms from Workers Compensation and Short Term Disability absences. Schedule and prepare paperwork for outside appointments with specialists, occupational and physical therapy and/or diagnostic studies Maintain Macungie safety eyeglass program, which consists of Preparing and maintaining a spreadsheet for safety glass eligibility Preparing paperwork and explaining process to obtain safety glasses. Perform all clerical functions in the Occupational Health Department. Maintain, order and receive medical and stationary supplies, and process invoices for payment in company purchasing software employees and business Strong Technical Skills: utilizing the facilities software and health information system * Solid Medical skills: Must possess good health and physical assessment techniques in order to effectively triage patients. * Highly Proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word.Dependability/Reliability: Following through on commitments, producing timely work to required -- or higher -- standards, and pitching in to get the job done

Additional Requirements

Personal skills needed (industry experience, international experience, software, material etc.) Minimum Education and Experience: Licensed Practical Nurse or a Licensed Registered Nurse or equivalent * Pennsylvania licensure preferred * CPR and AED certified on an annual basis * Preferred: 3-5 years of Occupational Health experience Physical Requirements: * Must be able to perform the following physical requirements with or without an accommodation: o Lift/reach floor to waist; waist to shoulder; shoulder height or higher, stand, walk, stoop/squat, bend, twist on a frequent basis; grip/grasp; push/pull; fine manipulation o Lift/carry First Aid bags/Medical Equipment/Injured Victims onto Stryker or other mechanical aid devices as needed
