Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To conduct receiving, in-process and final inspection of assemblies to determine compliance to workmanship and drawing requirements as assigned by QA Supervisor.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Inspect electronic assemblies, sub-assemblies and final units, comparing them with production layouts, production layouts, and knowledge of military and commercial soldering specifications.

* Examines visually using microscope to accept or identify defects , in accordance with applicable soldering specifications. Accept or identify defects such as in open dies, wire and ribbon bonding in micro-electronic assemblies. Ability to perform mechanical dimensioning when specified on assembly prints.

* Demonstrates a cooperative relationship to interface between lead assemblers and team leads concerning workmanship problems.

* Capability of making a decision from general knowledge and training sessions attended.

* Capability to inspect micro electronic assemblies under a microscope of 65X power

* Performs other tasks, as required.

* Maintain/demonstrates proper use and care of assigned tools and equipment.

* Performs whatever documentation is required, per contract specification.

* Familiar with inspection tools/gauges as well as geometric tolerance

* Employee must have practical as well as hands-on knowledge of MIL_STD_883, IPC-J-001 and A-610 standards and be comfortable working with a microscope for extended periods of time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Ability to be certified as a CIS (certified IPC Specialist) to IPC-A-610 standards

Ability to understand and use various portions of MIL-STD-883 standard

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors

Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary

Working knowledge and/or skill in word processing, spread sheets and other computer applications including Outlook.

Ability to adhere to workplace rules

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma

Two years of prior work experience in a Military Assembly Area
