Position Description

The Project Controls Analyst will provide hands-on project schedule creation and maintenance services to revenue-generating projects for MPI. This position is responsible for scheduling project activities, including engineering, manufacturing and testing. In specific, this position will entail the following responsibilities:

* Create and maintain detailed project schedule(s) by documenting activities, gathering updated status information, communicating task assignments due / past-due to appropriate managers, and creating Update Schedule submittals to be published to the customer.

* Working closely with other project team members, identify and provide visibility to project resource needs by accurately resource-loading schedules. Communicate project resource demand within project team and/or at the business leadership levels. Working with various engineering managers, escalate resource conflicts and adjust scheduled activities accordingly

* Own coordination of activity status updates, ensuring all functional departments' progress stays synchronized to a standard reporting cycle.

* Participate in project meetings and assist with schedule communication for the Project Manager

* Maintain accurate cost-loading in schedules to ensure accurate Estimate At Completion forecasts on a monthly basis. Monitor planned budget against actual spend to proactively communicate potential issues.

* Complete monthly Earned Value analysis on project(s) to determine SPI and CPI. Communicate variances to project management and company leadership as appropriate

Experience/Skills Required

* Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, project management or a commensurate level of experience

Project Controls Analyst I:

* Experience or education related to hands-on project schedule creation required.

* Knowledge of or exposure to a manufacturing environment preferred.

* Ability to communicate clearly and confidently within a project team environment.

* Experience collaborating with project team members across multiple different functional departments in a matrix environment.

Project Controls Analyst II:

* 2+ years' experience in project management, project scheduling or project controls

* 2+ years' experience doing hands-on project schedule creation and maintenance in MS Project (2007 or 2010) or Primavera (P3 or P6/EPPM) required.

* Strong communication skills and knowledge of project management.

* Senior level understanding and familiarity with scheduling concepts, including task types, logical relationships, float evaluation, progress tracking, baselines.

* Prefer Earned Value Analysis experience

* Prefer experience with Primavera (P3 or P6)
