Job Description

The successful candidate will have hands-on, purchasing, planning, and inventory control experience, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and excellent business judgment. Candidates should have demonstrated an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, where tactical and strategic activities are driven in parallel, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare purchase orders from purchase requisitions; obtain purchase order approvals or approve purchase orders as appropriate.

* Work with current and prospective suppliers to determine and verify supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management, negotiate prices and delivery terms

* Understanding supplier readiness at any given time including technical challenges and working to resolve potential supply constraints.

* Monitor supplier shipment status and define appropriate actions if shipment is out of standard (delayed, late, nonconforming).

* Ensure that all materials are received in a timely manner. Follow up on all purchase orders to ensure that scheduled delivery dates are met.

* Plan, schedule, and manage the materials for delivering time-critical components to support assigned production, RMAs and/or service areas

* Plan material requirements for multiple demand sources: production, service, engineering, re-manufacturing and RMAs.

* Understand how the BOM (bill of materials) is created and managed; ability to analyses, audit and propose appropriate structure.

* Assist in implementation of Internal Subsystem Bill of Materials (BOM) and Top-Level Assemblies

* Maintain MRP master data parameters to ensure accurate signals for quantities and dates generated by MRP (lead times, pack quantities, firm periods)

* Assist in implementing systematic solutions to control inventory flow, minimize shortages, and maintain accuracy in ERP/MRP system

* Provide ongoing transparency of inventory levels and ensure continuous inventory accuracy

* Ensure target inventory level are achieved, avoiding both shortages and overages

* Provide structural assistance implementation/conversion of ERP system and new process.


* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, or another related field;

* Minimum 4 years' prior experience in MRP, Production Planning, purchasing, expediting, or other materials management discipline is required.

* Experience creating part numbers, configuration management, and bill of materials BOM

* Must have experience in purchasing, pricing negotiations, outsourcing activities, and international supply chain development.

* Should have experience working with logistics providers, multiple inventory locations and spare parts.

* Must work flawlessly in a team environment consisting of engineering, service, AP & suppliers

* Experience with advanced planning tools preferred

* Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lb.

* Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office software, ERP and PLM systems.

* Ability to work independently and be detail-oriented

* Possess a strong work ethic, coupled with competencies in customer service, organization, and problem-solving

* Excellent time-management, interpersonal, and communication skills
