Job Description

Apply color to edges of cut book blocks for refining cosmetic production blemishes.

Bind books, using hand tools such as flush mount operating table and bone folders.

Compress flush mount album, using hydraulic press and book weights.

Cut binder boards to specified dimensions, using cutting machines.

Cut cover material to specified dimensions, fitting and gluing material to binder boards by hand.

Design original or special bindings for custom binding projects.

Organizing spreads/sheets before binding process.

Printing, learning to print fine art spreads, etc.

Team Status Updates - team progress reports of project status and changes.

Spend Time Standing - must be able to stand 8-12 hours a day

Accuracy in performance - Precision when making a book/album is vital to creating a stable and long lasting product.

Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Computer - A basic knowledge of Mac OS X software to use during organizing of spreads/sheets.

Phone - being able to effectively communicate with other employees in verbal and written communication.

Time Management - Managing one's own time and keeping production on schedule and striving to decrease turnaround time.

Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.
