Job Description

Established plant located in Macungie, PA is looking for a Medical Secretary/LPN for their occupational health department. Excellent opportunity to come aboard with a solid company.



Looking for a Front office medical staff person in an on-site Occupational Health and wellness department serving a large multi shift manufacturing facility. This position is involved in assisting with managing, planning, evaluating and executing comprehensive health and wellness, workers compensation, accident and sickness, and OSHA compliant testing and evaluations to a large employee population in an occupational health setting. This position requires extensive record keeping, organizing, and problem solving and time management. It also involves interpretation and communication of complex regulations and medical data and terminology.



Core Responsibilities- Serve as a first point of contact with all employees entering and exiting inside medical dispensary and actively participates in triaging all concerns and requests * Along with triaging customers, the Coordinator will schedule appointments with dispensary medical staff, diagnostic testing, and/or outside medical providers and coordinate with Plant management to minimize the disruption to production. Assist with assessment and treatment of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses * Assess and maintain patient medical records to ensure they are complete and accurate * Review and process return to work forms from Workers Compensation and Short Term Disability absences. Schedule and prepare paperwork for outside appointments with specialists, occupational and physical therapy and/or diagnostic studies Perform all clerical functions in the Occupational Health Department.stationary supplies, and process invoices for payment in company purchasing software Prepare medical charts for the next day's schedule Assist with implementation and administration of the hearing conservation program per OSHA requirements. Assist with implementation and administration of the respiratory surveillance exams per OSHA requirements Assist with implementation, administration and required testing and chain of custody of the Company's Substance Abuse program. Organize, coordinate, participate and in the continued training and certifications on Company's in house MERT teams. Actively participate on and support the MERT team * Maintain AED/Ambulance/ER bag checklist per written protocols Critical Competencies: * Strong Attention to Detail: ensure patient records are complete and accurate * Communication and Interpersonal Skills: working in a team environment and interacting with all levels of employees * Customer focused: Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with employees * Strong Technical Skills: utilizing the facilities software and health information system * Solid Medical skills: Must possess good health and physical assessment techniques in order to effectively triage patients. * Highly Proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word. Dependability/Reliability is a must.



Additional Requirements

Personal skills needed (industry experience, international experience, software, material etc.) Minimum Education and Experience: Licensed Practical Nurse or a Licensed Registered Nurse or equivalent * Pennsylvania licensure preferred * CPR and AED certified on an annual basis * Preferred: 3-5 years of Occupational Health experience.
