Job Description


This engineering technician will be part of a lab organization that supports the design engineering teams in new product development with a focus on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Testing. Responsibilities will include calibrating and characterizing sensors over pressure and temperature, setting up and running tests, maintaining lab equipment and fixtures, and scheduling work requests. This technician will need to work with the engineering team on timing and requirements to ensure all testing is completed accurately, on time, and with clear documentation. There will be additional opportunities to become an expert user on specialized engineering and EMC tests supported by the lab, to develop new test fixtures, to help with continuous improvements in the lab, and to continue career growth through training.

Job Description:

* Ability to work in a team of numerous individuals in a fast paced and dynamic environment

* Ability to read and follow test specifications, standards, and procedures

* Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical test equipment and components

* Hands on assembly skills (pressure manifolds, pressure lines)

* Ability to learn how to operate pressure cyclers, thermal ovens, and other test equipment

* Must be able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently, consistently and to high quality levels

* Must be flexible and able to move from a given assigned task to another assigned task on short notice

* Must be able to balance multiple priorities and receive direction from multiple engineers as required

* Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

* Must be conscious of surrounding environment and practice behaviors that promote a safe engineering test lab

* Must be open to taking direction and continuous learning

* Knowledgeable regarding electrical concepts (voltage, current, power, capacitors and resistors)

* Associates of Science Degree

The following lists of skills are preferred:

* Prior assembly experience working with small electrical components (soldering, handling, inspection)

* Fixture design and fabrication

* Comfortable using oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmmeters
