Construction Superintendent/Asst. Project Manager

Frederick County, Maryland

An established and reputable developer in Frederick is seeking the right individual to join their team of professionals. As Project Manager, you will provide construction field oversight for site development projects and serve as an owner's representative for commercial base building and tenant fit-out projects. You will provide additional support to the Senior Project Managers in the Land Development and Commercial Development Teams.

Your skills and experience would be put to use on the job when you:

* Assist in the design, scheduling and construction of public/private infrastructure improvements and commercial construction projects.

* Manage the approval of construction drawings/project permitting.

* Inspect construction to ensure adherence to specifications and contract documents.

* Participate with the project manager in the review of project construction plans.

* Work with government inspectors/officials without compromising goals.

* Produce and manage job construction schedules and budgets.

* Under the supervision of the project manager, manage construction contracts.

* Supervise all phases of construction in the field.

* Are responsible for overall appearance of subdivisions/projects.

* Oversee final acceptance of project, punch-out and bond release.

* Work with contractors and clients to resolve client concerns.

* Communicate progress, needs and concerns to senior level staff.



The ideal candidate will have:

* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in site work and commercial construction.

* Residency within 30 minutes of Frederick.

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred.

* Knowledge and understanding of construction principles and practices as they relate to land development and residential/commercial construction.

* Ability to read and understand construction drawings and site plans.

* Ability to deal effectively with contractors, fellow employees, government representatives and the public/customers.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* Commitment to company vision and values.

* Ability to budget effectively, including quantity takeoffs from construction drawings, using math skills, construction experience and site evaluation.

* Strong organizational skills including ability to schedule effectively.

* Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work independently with limited direction.

* Computer skills: Basic knowledge of Excel, Word and Microsoft Project.



This position offers:

* Salary of $80-95K annually
