Job Description

In tandem with our client, a leader in the petrochemical industry, Manpower is seeking an Engineer / Instrumentation Technologist, to fulfill an ongoing contract position at our client's site located 25 km east of Red Deer, Alberta.

Typical working hours are Monday to Friday. Preference will be given to candidates whom residing in the Central Alberta area, and they must have their own reliable transportation.

The Instrumentation Technologist/Engineer will be focused on:

1. Technical Support Required by Low Emissions Ethylene Process Project - LEEP

2. Asset Care Strategy which are notifications entered in SAP related to modify, evaluate, or create an equipment criticality or maintenance strategy.

3. Safety process PSLM projects that are SIL/SIF related

The future candidate will be involved in all stages of the project (Design, Construction, and Commissioning) and be responsible to see the project through to completion.

The job accountabilities or duties will be:

* Create Instrument and Control Engineering Design Change packages following our client's Management of Change (MOC) and Project Development and Implementation (PD&I) processes.

* Size, specify and source instrumentation as required for the turnaround projects, while meeting our Client's Engineering Specifications and applicable industry codes.

* Create and update Instrument data sheets, loop sheets, P&ID's, panel drawings, logic narratives and other associated documents within our client's document management tools (i.e. Smart Plant Foundation, INtools, Microstation, MS Tools)

* Interface with the Instrument and Control Maintenance team to provide technical support where required and solicit input into the aforementioned Engineering Design Change packages.

* Work independently with guidance and mentorship from the Unit I&C Specialist.

* Provide short term vacancy coverage for our client's Unit I&C Specialist absence due to training or holidays.

* Provide direction and assist Maintenance with respect to field construction and commissioning concerns.

* Ensure commissioning plans, Preventative Maintenance and BOM's are in place when projects are completed.

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

* 10+ years Journeyman Instrumentation with last 5 years in a design role in a Petrochemical facility. Or

* Certified Engineering Technologist (Instrumentation) with 5+ Years' Experience in an Industrial or Petrochemical Industry

* Instrument field with the designations of: P.Eng, P.Tech(Eng), P.L. (Eng)
