Job Description

A CNC Lathe Machinist direct hire opportunity is available with a well-established and still growing manufacturer in Hanover, PA. This position sets up and operates lathes to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, threading, and facing, on metal workpieces such as castings, forgings, and bar stock.

* Responsible for quality parts produced on CNC lathes.

* Responsible for loading parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.

* Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances

* Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

* Self-inspection of parts to verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.

Qualifications and Requirements:

* High school diploma or GED and one year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training

* 3+ years' working knowledge of CNC Lathes and Codes and application of precision measuring instruments: calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, and indicators

* Working knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions (GD&T).

* Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts

* Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

* Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules.

* Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.

* Ability and willingness to run multiple machines independently or in a team
