Job Description

What is the role?

*Establish new or improved manufacturing processes that support and comply with quality, environmental, workplace health & safety, ergonomics and all other applicable regulatory standards.

*Develop optimal manufacturing techniques and process flows for various types of thermal products.

*Develop new applications for existing equipment/assess and implement new technology/equipment.

*Provide technical support for one or more manufacturing technologies ie. Robotics, PLC, Dry Leak-testing.

*Lead, develop and implement a continuous improvement projects for cost, quality, speed and flexibility that eliminates waste and provides outstanding levels of customer service, applying Six Sigma tools and methodologies/mini tab analysis.

*Bring together prototype and/or production quotations to support cost-models for various assembly lines; specifically, tooling & assembly equipment.

*Coordinate/Facilitate new program launch activities

*Maintain capacity studies to reflect shifting customer requirements.

*Prepare capital appropriations including justification and monitoring of expenditure.

*Evaluate vendors, holding them accountable for equipment performance, capability and on-time delivery and commissioning equipment determining its safety, capacity and capability prior to production acceptance.

*Increasing production yield through process improvement; adjusting existing or setting new procedures.

*Lead and participate in various teams to identify new opportunities improving Power Technologies business performance through product or manufacturing innovations.

What is required for this role?

* Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electro/Mechanical Technology, or Industrial Engineering.

* Experience with tooling, stamping and brazing

* Hands on, analytical thinking

* Six Sigma Black or Greenbelt designation

* 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a high-volume automotive production setting
