Job Description

Manpower is currently searching for Millwright/Mechanics that are looking for a Permanent position with a great company.

A Successful candidate can get qualified in up to 3 areas including Millwright/Mechanic, Rigger/Pipefitter/Crane Operator, Welder, Machinist, and Vibration Technician. Once qualified in 1 area, pay increases to $33.34/hr, pay increases to $35.14 once qualified in 2 areas, and increases to $36.88/hr when qualified in 3 areas. There will be some overtime required.

Millwright/Mechanic common tasks-

Layout, drill and tap pump bases and foundations.

Troubleshoot all types of pumps, disassemble, repair and reassemble.

Install shaft couplings.

Perform alignment of pumps/motors, etc. using laser alignment tools.

Inspect, repair/replace mechanical shaft seals.

Assist in repairing reciprocating, centrifugal and axial flow compressors, including component parts.

Inspect and repair standard gear boxes.

Rigger/Pipefitter common tasks-

Fabricate, install and repair piping systems, including process, plumbing, and firewater systems in shop and field locations.

Service and repair piping valves and process line filters.

Rig as needed for the removal/installation of the following: (a) compressors, (b) gearboxes, (c) centrifuges, (d) tanks, (e) Ion exchangers, (f) all types of pumps, (g) screens, (h) piping, and (i) structural steel.

Gives directions to Crane Operator or Flagman engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled.

Welder common tasks-

Ability to read, interpret and work from Engineering drawings and spool sheets.

Proficient in use of all welding, cutting and heating equipment.

Proficient in use of shearing and forming tools.

Proficient in layout, fabrication and installation of piping systems, structural steel, pump and compressor bases and shapes made from sheet metal or woven wire.

Machinist common tasks-

Perform bench work such as sawing, filing, drilling and tapping, lapping/polishing and hand fit machine parts.

Operates lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, keyway cutter, broach cutters, lapping machine, and band saws, both vertical and horizontal.

Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.

Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.

Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls.

Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.

Operates welding equipment to weld parts and oxyacetylene torch for heating or cutting.

Develops specifications from general description and makes dimensioned drawings of machine items to be fabricated.

Vibration Analysis-

Route based data collection using Emerson CSI equipment

Data analysis using Emerson CSI software to determine faults and severity

Communicate and deliver reports to manager about findings

Build, edit, and fine tune machinery databases
