    At this company, successful candidates will perform a variety of Forklift duties ; including driving electric forklifts, moving large pallets from one building to the next, palletizing. You will also be required to jump off the forklift and rotate into placing delicate fish weighing 7-12 pounds on a moving conveyor belt so the fish can go through the freezing tunnels. After the fish has went through the freezing tunnels you will place the frozen fish into the shipping boxes. Other duties will include packaging, making boxes, lifting packages and/or shoveling ice. This environment is not for everyone - it is very cold. Requires knee-high rubber boots, thin gloves, and multiple layers of clothing for maximum comfort.

The Packaging Supervisor position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the packaging department meets all production standards.

    Job Duties:
    Supervises the staff of the department, interviewing and hiring new employees, carrying out performance appraisals, motivating staff, directing the training and development of staff and carrying out disciplinary action.
    Coordinates and assigns work to staff
    Controls and releases pre-issued packaging requisitions for the pulling of product from the warehouse
    Checks material and schedules work accordingly
    Ensures that warehouse policies and procedures are followed
    Data Management
    Maintains daily production records
    Prepares monthly production reports
    Sets up packaging machines, investigates and corrects machine problems and arrange repairs with the Maintenance Mechanic
    Contact and liaise with suppliers for parts and prices
    Releases packaging boxes from suppliers
    Administers and enforces time & attendance policies using the Dayforce (Ceridian) system
    Performs other tasks as assigned by management
    Develop and demonstrate a positive "accident prevention" attitude and working climate.
    Ensure the Health and Safety Program meets and exceeds the legislated health and safety requirement
    Liaise with appropriate government agencies
    Implement and maintain health and safety program
    Maintain a Joint Health and Safety committee and Emergency Response Team
    Respond in writing within 21 days to any health and safety recommendations submitted by the JHSC
    Annual audit of health and safety program

    Qualifications:
    3 - 5 Years of experience in a Retail environment / Manufacturing or Packaging processes
    Excellent communication skills
    Effective Leadership skills - Motivator / Team Builder
    Effective conflict and diplomatically resolve issues
    Computer knowledge - Office suite: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, E1, WM
    Thrive in a fast paced / high pressure / changing workplace
