    The Boys & Girls Club of Frederick County is seeking a Director of Development to support the growing program initiatives that support our local youth. BGCFC is an established chartered member of Boys & Girls Club of America which brings a tremendous history of making a difference in children's lives all across America and right here in Frederick County!

    As Director of Development you will work collaboratively with a Board of Directors and the CEO to provide leadership and direction for the effective operation of all development activities. You will secure resources for standard operations and pursue additional funding opportunities to promote local programs. As the organizational voice, you will foster community relationships with key stakeholders to secure individual, community and corporate contributions.
    Your responsibilities:
    * Develop long-term donor relationships and perform appropriate "asks"
    * Maintain, research and analyze existing donor base then make recommendations for strategic development
    * Prepare and present approved proposals
    * Grant management and cultivation
    * Have an active role in budget planning, monitoring and controls
    * Oversee logistics for special events, marketing campaigns and collateral materials
    * Design and implement direct mail and social media outreach, manage public relations
    * Support fund raising projects and initiatives such as endowments, major gifts and planned giving
    * Recruit, train and support Board members and committee initiatives
    The ideal candidate will possess:
    * Bachelor's Degree
    * 3+ years of nonprofit fundraising or sales and marketing experience (Youth Development program experience preferred)
    * Working knowledge of fundraising techniques and sources for nonprofit organizations
    * Excellent community networking skills and experience
    * Proficiency with a donor database platform
    * Ability to collaborate with and motivate Board members, volunteers and peers
    Salary range of $50K -$57K and includes a competitive benefits package.

    Looking for a rewarding and fast paced working environment? The Non Profit Event Planner Supervisor will be responsible for a leading role in and the implementation of all fund raising and communication efforts for the organization. This position offers a guaranteed 25/hr. a week position Monday-Friday plus some Saturdays required. The pay starts at $15-18 per hour. This individual will be responsible for working with the Board of Directors and staff to develop and implement a strategic fund raising plan that will allow the organization to meet its operations and program needs and objectives on an annual basis and beyond, supervising and coordinating activities of workers involved in providing administrative support Developing, implementing and coordinating the fundraising plan requires securing funds by, but not limited to:

    Identifying, prioritizing, cultivating, soliciting and recognizing individual donors, corporations, and foundations
    Developing grant proposals, writing the proposal, and following up with any required reporting,
    Planning, overseeing, and executing major fall and spring fundraising events,
    Managing and overseeing the donor data base including recording, reporting and reconciling records
    Leading other office personnel in assisting and executing all fundraising and marketing efforts

    What you'll offer:
    Previous experience in event planning,marketing,advertising and experience with a non-profit charity.
    Major gifts solicitation experience
    Grant writing with excellent research, communication, writing, and editing skills
    Fundraising event planning
    Excellent oral communication skills and ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors while building and maintaining long-term relationships.
    Ability to manage multiple projects while objectively evaluating, making effective decisions, and developing alternative solutions.
    Ability to use software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in Raisers Edge is preferred.
