    What is the job?

    - Understanding and working closely with blueprints to ensure machinery is up to standard.

    What is required for the position?

    - 3-5 years of previous experience within a similar role.
    - 433A or Red Seal certified, certification in the Province of Ontario as a Millwright.
    - Experience in light-assembly manufacturing, stamping, leak, brazing, PLC's.
    - Experience with safety requirements or procedures in a manufacturing setting.
    - Previous experience within the automotive industry an asset.
    - Previous experience working with robotics an asset.
    - Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and such as 5-S, SMED, etc.
    - Ability to read engineering drawings, standard work instructions, safety instructions and maintenance records.
    - Basic computer, computer software, and arithmetic skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
    - Written communications skills.
    - Sound organizational skills, with attention to detail.
    - Must be able to successfully complete required fork lift operator license, skyjack and fall arrest harness license.
    - Reliable attendance record.

    * Performs program modifications to improve and correct machine operations as assigned. (excluding safety circuit modifications with out proper approvals). Document and communicate all changes.
    * Maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    * Completion of approved Province of Ontario Industrial Electrical Apprenticeship for Trade 442A preferred; with 9000 hours related experience and/or training.
    * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to describe problems and solutions with other employees of organization.
    * Ability to work with electrical mathematical concepts such as resistance, wire calculations, electromotive force, terminal voltages, analysis of series and parallel circuits, and trigonometry. Compute metric conversions, weights, measures, linear equations, formulae and shop calculations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    *Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Fabricate components using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, face, tack and weld parts; setup and measures assemblies; selects appropriate methods. Perform orbital welds using ARC machines 207 power supply or equivalent.

    · Familiar with power supply operation, selection/application of weld heads and accessories, developing weld programs, create/implement weld schedules, equipment repair and maintenance.

    · Understand proper use of: leak detection equipment, tube preparation methods, calipers, manual tube cutters, dimensional tolerances/weld shrinkage, tacking methods, isometric drawings, BOM, purge/restriction methods, straightening techniques and methods for oxidation free welds.

    · Ensure compliance with Industry Welding and Fabrication Standards, current welding certifications.

    · Train junior technicians on current industries welding standards and support qualification process.

    · Work with production management and QA/QC to develop system procedures and documentation associated with all fabricated systems.

    · Work with the project teams to develop required weld / fabrication support documentation.

    · Work with the manufacturing team on system construction, electrical panel construction, system interconnects, and system troubleshooting.

    · Interface with third party partners including engineering resources, construction managers, QA/QC, Safety and material suppliers

    SKILLS:

    · Strong mechanical skills and willingness to learn. Basic machine tool knowledge a plus.

    · Ability to read/interpret complex blueprints, weldment drawings, detailed specifications, written instructions and QC documents. Assist in development of standard operating procedures.

    · Experience with measuring, hand & power tools, welding cutting, facing and measuring equipment: Calipers,

    Height Gauges, Micrometers, Gauges, Values, Regulator's, and Specialized Fixturing.

    EDUCATION:

    High School Degree or equivalent; post HS education and/or training preferred.

    Preferred Experience:

    Current weld certification or ability to re certify. Portfolio or examples of previous workmanship a plus.

    Essential duties of the position:
    1. Performs required maintenance and repair duties necessary to maintain assigned facilities and buildings by performing a variety of carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing repair and maintenance work; perform routine and emergency repairs and adjustments to buildings and facilities.
    2. Install and repair a variety of electrical components including lights, wall outlets, and switches.
    3. Repair and replace plumbing fixtures including faucets, fixtures, washers, and gaskets.
    4. Perform carpentry work including the construction, installation, and repair of cabinets, partitions, bulletin boards, shelving, windows, doors, desks, chairs, and related items; install necessary hardware.
    5. Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment and facilities including changing air filters, repairing heating and air conditioning units, and perform minor concrete work including the repair of sidewalks.
    6. Unlock and lock doors; turn off alarms; turn on lights and outside code pads; issue alarm codes to employees and provide training on alarm use.
    7. Move and arrange furniture and equipment; set-up rooms for meetings and special events; ensure security of facilities including locking and unlocking doors.
    8. Assist in maintaining supply inventory and ordering necessary supplies; receive and store materials and supplies; pick up supplies and equipment as necessary;
    9. Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance, repair, and replacement needs; report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards.
    10. Perform custodial duties to maintain buildings and facilities in a clean and desirable condition as assigned; sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets; dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; wash windows, mirrors and walls; clean desks and counter tops; empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles.
    11. Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures including mirrors, sinks, urinals, toilets, and partitions; replenish supplies in restrooms including filling soap and towel dispensers.
    12. Clean light fixtures; replace lights, bulbs, and fluorescent tubes as necessary.
    13. Perform work in adherence to safe work practices and procedures and in compliance with applicable standards.
    14. Attends safety training and participates in staff meetings and in-services activities as directed.
    15. Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to Head Start/Early Head Start children, families and staff in accordance with established policies and procedures.

    LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
    Must possess a valid Florida drivers' license and certifications necessary to drive all vehicles as
    required.
    Also required: Certification in First Aid and CPR within six months of the date assigned to this
    position; and successful completion of a Level II background screening, local criminal record
    check and drug screening prior to hiring.

    Pay is between $10-15/hr based on experience. This is a temp to hire position.
