A client of ours in the Insurance Industry is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join their team!

Job Details:

$28 per hour

3 month contract to start with potential for extension/ hire

Markham location



JOB SUMMARY:

The Commercial Lines Data Analyst will work within the Data and Insights team and will support the front line and the functional teams by running, maintaining and distributing a suite of management reports. The main responsibility of this role is to run reports and maintain their SLA. In addition there will also be a need for analysing the business requirements in order to enhance the published reports and dashboards and to provide data for the ad-hoc asks. The candidate is required to have sufficient technical skills to be able to navigate through the multitude of tools and technologies used in sourcing, assembly and distribution of the reports.



ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Run reports and data extracts using SAS, Business Objects, SQL, Excel and other tools as per the Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

* Monitor the service email account for the incoming user requests and communicate with the users

* Maintain high level of MI reporting quality

* Provide data related testing support for any system enhancement projects



QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree is required

* Previous experience (3-5) years analyzing data and results in the Insurance industry an asset

* Demonstrated technical skills in SAS EG, Business Objects and SQL

* Excellent time management skills

* Ability to think and apply knowledge creatively.

* Good verbal and written communication skills.

* Data savvy with attention to detail.

* Strong organizational and project management skills.

* Expert in MS/Office Products -PowerPoint, Word and especially Excel

* Analytical thinking and ability to break down problems to resolve them effectively

* Enjoy working in a team environment

* Ability to work autonomously and desire to proactively seek out opportunities to add value
