Job Description


The Engineering Services Specialist is responsible for ensuring effective data entry into Oracle by all disciplines within the company. Works cross functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Production, Planning, Marketing and Customer Service/Sales to ensure products are structured and configured correctly. Manage all newly created and updated BOM structure and Item Master data. Individual while not responsible for routings and costing will serve as an advisor to purchasing and planning. Verifies and seeks consensus when reviewing requests, to determine if updates to BOMs are required. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the engineering department as it relates to Oracle. Additionally, this individual works hand in hand with the Engineering Services Database Technician to enable successful implementation of PCP's and BOM creation/changes.

1 Actively participate in meetings/discussions to acquire insight into timely development of Item Master data, as well as troubleshoot Item Master issues.

2 Will provide appropriate training to departments as needed to ensure proper and efficient releases.

3 Work with all company campuses and departments to control data flow into the Oracle. Maintain item master and Bill of Material (BOM) systems data integrity and consistency.

4 Function as key administrative advisor for all Item Master and BOM matters (Domestic & International) through the development of strong, smooth-running relationships and processes with all interfacing departments.

5 Work with the comapny I.S. department to assist a smooth transition for future Oracle upgrades and enhancements.

6 Develop and maintain a solid process for managing the Item Master and BOM policies, processes, and procedures to assure data integrity.

7 Key contributor to the Corporate/departmental projects.

8 Assist on other duties and special projects as they are assigned by the Director of Engineering.

10 WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT: 1. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice. 2. No regular travel required.

Education and/or Experience:

* Expertise in Oracle, Filemaker Pro and the MS Office Suite are required.

* Multitasking is required to handle multiple project on time, meeting deadlines and commitments demonstrating initiative and follow through

* Team player

* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

* Well organized and excels at multi-tasking

* Must be detail oriented.
