ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Purpose:



The Utility Worker performs a variety of duties to maintain kitchen work areas in clean, orderly condition.





Essential (Primary) Functions:



The primary responsibility of the Utility Worker is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Other responsibilities include the sweeping and mopping of floors, washing work tables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks and removing trash and garbage to designated areas. The Utility Worker scrapes food from dirty dishes, pots and pans and washes them by hand or places them in a dish washing machine, and sets the dials for correct wash cycles. In addition, the Utility Worker transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or use of a hand truck. The Utility Worker is required to clean equipment using specific chemicals to insure sanitary standards, polish silver and use a machine (as well as hand buffing) to scrub floors, buff floors using heavy equipment and steam clean trash cans. The Utility Worker may load and unload supply trucks, set-up banquet tables and help with banquet food preparation, as well as provide direction and training to other Utility Workers. The Utility Worker may perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor and must follow all Sodexho and regulatory agency policies.





Requirements:



Title Utility Worker I



· No previous experience required



Title Utility Worker II



· 6 to 12 months experience as a Level I

· Experience operating equipment such as dish/pot washer and burnishing machine preferred

Clean dishes, kitchen, food preparation equipment, or utensils.
