Job Description

Our client, a world class engineering and distribution company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Inside Sales Rep to join their team. This position is located at their head office in Pickering.



What is the job?

* Primarily responsible for assisting with multiple Construction/Engineering market opportunities ensuring client satisfaction throughout the sales cycle. The chosen candidate will have relevant technical expertise to prepare estimates & quotations, we are looking for a goal orientated, innovative self-starter who is driven and flexible.

* Research and network with engineers, designers, architects, contractors, and relevant OEM's.

* Potential to present product presentations to groups of designers at engineering and architectural companies.

* Develop an in depth understanding of the engineering features and benefits of our Client's products to both maximize the application exposure for their products, and to build the brand within the construction community.

* Support engineers and other design professionals to design with product solutions

* Communicate effectively within the organization to achieve desired results.

* Communicating directly with customers, candidates should be versed at reading drawings, developing estimates and request for quotes under fast-paced deadlines.

* Provide post-sales support to ensure proper application of products, and to build long-term business relationships

* Track, develop and maintain client's and project leads utilizing Salesforce platform

* Report activities and results to management on a regular basis, meeting or exceeding company expectations

* Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to maintain strong working relationships.

* Well organized with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.

* Ability to work well as part of a team, including the flexibility to work outside of direct responsibilities when necessary.

Who are we looking for?

* Engineering/ Construction based Diploma considered or equivalent sales work experience.

* Previous inside sales experience within the engineering or architecture industry (either hands-on, detailing work, inside sales support or engineering support), with proven track record of success of growing sales to Construction /Engineering industry with in a designated geographical area while strengthening the company's position and market share within assigned territory.

* Effective presentation skills in front of groups and ability to work with PowerPoint software.

* Demonstrated aptitude of cold-calling skills to engineers and Construction personnel are required.

* Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite, and Salesforce.

* Network of contacts in engineering community / steel construction industry would be an advantage.

* Hold a valid driving license
