The Marquette MI Manpower office is recruiting for a talented individual to teach the Line Tech program for a great university! Teaching to commence August 2020, with hire date slightly prior to that date.

This will be a permanent faculty position with all of the benefits you would expect- health insurance, paid time off, free tuition and more.

The individual we are seeking will have a passion for teaching and growing the program, bringing young people into the industry.

The candidate hired will have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and possess a commercial driver's license (CDL). Prior experience as a lineman is not required, however, you should have a minimum of 1 year of industry work experience in addition to a 4-year apprenticeship, and attained journeyman line electrician status, OR 5 years of utility experience in electrical or engineering discipline. A thorough knowledge of all phases of electric distribution & transmission work procedures and safety rules. Must also be up-to-date on applicable state electric codes and statutes, underground facilities and their purpose.

You should be willing to work outdoors, in extreme weather conditions and within confined spaces. You should also have the ability to work while climbing or on top of poles, towers, ladders, or other structures for sustained periods.

As a Line Tech Instructor, you will:

Prepare and deliver lectures, compile, administer and grade examinations.

Prepare and present training sessions on line-related and safety subjects.

Perform technical lab work to include organizing and dispatching work to student trainee crews; directing and supervising student trainees in accordance with safety rules and work practices. Inspecting student trainee installations as required and document completeness and accuracy.

Participate in professional development/ scholarly activities which may include research, publications, presentations, and attendance at professional conferences or events.

Serve on committees related to the student body, department, university, and/ or professional organizations.

Advise students on academics and career issues; maintain regular office hours to be available for the students.

Maintain student records, grades, and other required records for University compliance.

Prepare course materials; plan evaluate and revise course content.
