Job Description

As Junior Horticulturist, you'll work closely with R&D and Manufacturing, assisting with genetic development, pest management, quality control and plant care strategies.



JOB SCOPE

* Produce and/or maintains a diverse and unique genetic palette of plants

* Prepare fertilizers needed to properly grow plants

* Confirms temperatures, light level controls, plant health, electronic conductivity and air circulation devises to regulate plant growth

* Prepare data for evaluation from the Director or R&D and Horticulturalist, and keeps date on plants and program records

* Assists in research tasks as assigned

* Aids in the development and execution of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to control of pest

* Other duties as required to support the organization



YOU OFFER:

* BSc or equivalent in a relevant biological science emphasizing horticulture or floriculture greenhouse production

* Experience with cannabis desired but not essential

* Strong working knowledge and interest in propagation, and potted plant production

* Demonstrated ability to conduct specific research to answer questions and solve problems

* Solid verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively

* Scientific curiosity, personal drive and networking abilities

* Able to work in varying temperatures
