Job Description

1. Performs preventative and predictive maintenance, repair and installation of machinery and equipment, advanced diagnostic troubleshooting, as well as complete teardown, rebuild, and remanufacture of machinery and related systems.

2. Executes daily machine checks, lubrication, machine start-up, clean-up, changeovers and adjustments to maintain the greatest operational efficiency.

3. General electrical work including but not limited to layouts; assembling, installing and testing of electrical apparatus; measuring, cutting, threading and bending conduit; and installing, modifying, and repairing panel boxes, remote control equipment, motors, power and lighting circuits.

4. Maintenance and calibration of micro-processor based control equipment, general instrumentation and electrical control systems to carry out first line diagnostic, troubleshooting and maintenance work.

5. Read and understand relay logic and schematic diagrams as well as industrial power distribution and wiring practices.

6. Troubleshoot, program, and/or replace Allen Bradley PLCs(SLC500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix; Allen Bradley Panelview Plus, Allen Bradley Device Net, and Ethernet) and three phase 240V and 480Vmotors as well as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

7. Performs tests and calibration procedures using test equipment and instrumentation which includes CRT terminals and data recorders.

8. Possess a broad general knowledge of welding techniques (i.e. MIG, TIG, Sanitary, Stick, etc.) and must be able to apply these techniques to various operations within the plant.

9. Operate various power tools including but not limited to torque wrenches, calipers, and gauges in a safe and proficient manner.

10. Insure accurate parts assignments and equipment histories are maintained.

11. Assist the Supervisor in the operations of the line and in training operators/mechanics on repairs, adjustments and standard operating procedures.

Set up or set up and operate machines that perform some or all of the following functions in order to produce books, magazines, pamphlets, catalogs, and other printed materials: gathering, folding, cutting, stitching, rounding and backing, supering, casing-in, lining, pressing, and trimming.
