Director of Marketing and Communications

Frederick, Maryland - Nonprofit



Are you an experienced Marketing and Public Relations professional? Are you recognized for your excellent and effective writing skills? Enjoy being the individual who makes your organization stand-out in the community via strong and effective communications? The Community Foundation of Frederick County is looking for their next full-time Director of Marketing and Communications to continue their tradition of excellence in this role.



What this job entails:

* This is a full-time salaried/exempt position with the Community Foundation serving Frederick, Maryland

* Being part of the organization's leadership team and reports directly to the CEO

* Working closely with the CEO and other leaders to tell the success stories of the Community Foundation via press releases, monthly newsletters, annual reports and other marketing print media

* Creating communications using both the latest technology and other seasoned methods

* Using photography and video to share stories of success via social and print media

* Updating and editing of web site to ensure most recent and accurate information appears

* Understanding philanthropic giving methods and the important role that nonprofits play in our community

* Consistent promotion of events and other activities of the organization

* Managing the Community Foundation's social media presence



Successful candidates will have:

* Minimum of three to five years in a Public Relations/Marketing/Communications field

* Bachelor's Degree in Communications, PR, Marketing or related field

* Exceptional writing skills

* Strong attention to detail and constant concern for the quality of publications produced

* Use of an annual budget allotment to create and implement an annual marketing and public relations plan

* Supervision of one support person and work closely with all other departments to ensure alignment of organizational activities and subsequent communications



This position offers:

* Annual salary of $80,000 - $90,000
