Safety Manager

Ensure that safety policies are met in accordance with national/state/local rules and regulations, and full compliance with accreditation/licensure standards at all times.

Identify occupational health and safety hazards for all worker group and industries being served by employing a risk management program designed to identify, prevent and minimize risk.

Conduct daily walkthroughs of facilities, investigates safety hazards, prepares reports, makes recommendations to correct safety hazards and monitors status of deficiencies noted for operational leadership.

Ensure that the Safety Plans are reviewed, revised if necessary, and approved annually and maintains a continuous knowledge of safety policies.

Utilize experience in workplace accident prevention, risk management, and implementation of OSHA regulations and safety training.

Managing compliance to OHSA programs while evaluating potential hazards in work areas and for new processes/procedures.

Programs include (examples):

Lock-out/Tag-out and Electrical Safety

Confined Space

Evaluation and recommendations for Personal Protective Equipment

Routine ergonomic evaluations

Risk assessments to evaluate hazardous conditions and practices to develop control solutions utilizing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)

Chemical Safety

Contractor Management

Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters, as well as accident prevention.

Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claim.

Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.

Providing new ideas and methods to improve safety.

Utilize Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) licensure.

Use Microsoft computer program.

Preferred degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health and Safety, or closely related, and three years of experience in the job offered or three years of experience in workplace accident prevention; risk management; implementation of OSHA regulations and Safety training; CSP, ASP or CHSP certification required.

* Ability in producing reports and presenting to management the relevant finding.
