Substation Services Engineer

Manpower has an immediate opening for a Substation Services Engineer! This position will focus on modifying/upgrading existing substation facilities, metering, relaying, SCADA and associated equipment. In addition, this role will assist with researching, planning, developing, and implementing programs to meet compliance needs.

What is the job?

* Plan, organize, direct, supervise and/or coordinate the design and specification preparation for new substation facilities

* Modify/upgrade existing substation facilities, including all aspects of metering, relaying, SCADA and associated equipment

* Assist the Substation Services and Compliance Manager by researching, planning, developing and implementing programs and procedures necessary to meet compliance needs

* Keep the Substation Services and Compliance Manager informed relative to progress, plans, programs and activities so he/she may determine adequacy, effectiveness and conformity to established policies, objectives and budgets

What do you bring to the job?

* Bachelor's degree in electrical or a related engineering field

* Licensed Professional Engineer preferred or ability to obtain with registration in Missouri and Iowa

* Minimum three-year's experience in electric utility industry preferred

* Knowledge in 69 kV and 161 kV substation equipment including large power transformers, tap changers/regulators, and SF6 and oil circuit breakers is a plus

* Knowledge of electrical substation layouts, major equipment and auxiliary systems

* Knowledge of protective relaying, metering, short circuit calculations, SCADA systems, Doble Power Factor Testing and fusing/recloser coordination

* Working knowledge of system protection coordination principles and electric utility engineering practices, operations and construction

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

* Experience with AcSELerator and ASPEN is a plus

* Must be able to attend work on a regular and predictable basis and maintain a valid driver's license

* Must be able to work independently and assume responsibility
