Job Description


This position has primary responsibility for managing/administrating the company’s Internet’s communications and network infrastructure while safeguarding client services with special attention on managing risk, cost, schedule, change management and client communication. Incumbent will work effectively with internal departments to ensure successful project outcomes. Incumbent is expected to manage projects with a high degree of quality and professionalism at all times in the project cycle and for the creation of the company’s Best Practices.


• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, expertise and support to the company’s team members, clients and other technical staff in implementation of the company’s services and products.

• Create Best Practices for the implementation of the company’s products and services.

• Design and implement new or modified network infrastructure configurations, both at client sites and internally.

• Prepare and maintain network and/or systems procedures, technical specifications, client configuration standards, documentation and drawings.

• Create and update documentation to be used by other team members to support client initiatives.

• Analyze network infrastructure and/or voice related problems, initiate corrective action and work closely with customers and vendors in solving issues that impact client services.

• Recommend appropriate hardware, software and/or communication platforms required to support client and/or business needs.

• Develop network architectures, monitor performance, prepare forecasts of network traffic, capacity planning and recommend modifications to network configurations that reduce costs or improve service.

• Manage relationships with vendors to achieve optimal system(s) and/or product(s) performance.

• Implement security standards, procedures and guidelines for multiple platforms in order to protect the company and its clients.

• Implement voice services, co-location and circuit projects including the technical documentation of each as well as the management.

• Ensure the integrity and survivability of the telecommunication systems through the design, implementation and testing of disaster recovery solutions.

• Be available outside of normal business hours to support the company and its clients as well as pager duty for two weeks every 3-4 months.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent professional experience

• Network Certification, CCNA, CCNP or equivalent experience

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in network administration, infrastructure planning and management

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the design, implementation and support of voice systems


• Analyze the key issues of a given problem to identify implications of each issue

• Use a series of probing, detailed questions to decompose or break down complex issues into individual, manageable elements

• Work with clients as trusted business partner in defining key requirements of an integrated solution

• Articulate the business case for choosing certain solutions over others or for integrating several solutions

• Align and prioritize projects based on organizational knowledge, experience, and staffing

• Link creative ideas and proposed solutions to company strategy

• Anticipate risks to project budgets and timelines, and develop contingencies to mitigate or overcome them

• Secure client cooperation and manage client expectations, including the expectation that timelines may change with needs and circumstances

• Work independently with minimal supervision and have the discernment engage management as needed

• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, customers and vendors in a proactive manner

• Ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding from non-technical people

• Maintain and grow in the company’s desired characteristics: tenacious, focused, passionate, exceptional, and agile and resilient


• Must have current and valid driver’s license and must be able to provide proof of vehicle insurance

• Must be able to utilize personal vehicle to travel to client locations to perform required work

• On occasions, may be required to travel in order to service the company’s clients
