Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Material Handler to become a part of our team! You will manage a logistics team and direct daily operations. First shift 6:30am-3pm, $17/hr.



REQUIREMENTS

* Prior experience in leadership/supervision



* Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree preferred



* Ability to take ownership of own and other members' safety



* Experience working in a production/warehouse environment



* Experienced in forklift operation



* Demonstrated communication and listening skills and ability



* Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently



* Strong interpersonal skills



* Ability to lead by example and also involve others in the decision making process (team player)



* Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities



* Ability to innovate



* Meet customers' needs and expectation



s * Microsoft Office proficient, including but not limited to Outlook and Excel



RESPONSIBILITIES

* Daily scheduling and effective resource allocation



* Monitor performance of team members, providing feedback and documenting results through performance appraisals



* Coach and guide team members in need of development and lead corrective action process



* Effectively manage member relations with the team and co-workers



* Effectively conduct team meetings



* Create and promote a team environment, manage conflict, and resolve current issues



* Be a role model to all members



* Effectively manage all aspects of safety; address issues with safety immediately, and be a safety champion



* Lead and coordinate activities of a production cell involving complex operations to ensure that performance commitments are fulfilled daily



* Monitor and coach team members to improve skill level, to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost effective manner



* Provide technical leadership, troubleshooting and training for employees in work area



* Assist in training of procedure changes; ensure assigned end of shift activities are performed



* Motivate team to drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Productivity, and cost



* Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and report ideas, suggestions, unusual conditions and problems to supervisor



* Adapt new procedures, techniques, tools, material and/or equipment to meet the more complicated requirements of the position



* Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals * Orient, train, assign and check work of other employees
