Job Description

 As a highly skilled Electrical Controls Engineer, you play a key role supporting new equipment installations and modifications, from initial investigation through budget approval, installation and commissioning. During this TWENTY MONTH CONTRACT, you'll be part of a world class team, offering New Model Project support through equipment modifications.



RESPONSIBILITIES

* Create/modify electrical schematics using AutoCAD

* Business Plan and New Model project support through equipment modifications

* PLC programming for new equipment and upgrade of existing

* Root cause analysis & development of countermeasures for equipment problems impacting all areas of QCDMS

* Support committee activities including Safety, Environmental, Ergonomics and Associate improvement themes (Kaizen) etc

* Working on multidisciplinary projects (i.e. responsibility for mech. and elect. tasks)

* Supporting various committees



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

* Electrical Engineering Degree/Diploma or equivalent practical experience

* Experience in managing equipment projects

* Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, AutoCAD and CATIA

* Strong PLC knowledge and programming abilities

* Robot programming, setup or integration experience

* Able to support over time (weekends, shutdowns, and abnormal shifts to accommodate project construction schedules)

* Able to provide on shift production support



CONSIDERED ASSETS:

* Capital investment (project) from concept through mass production

* Supervision experience (construction contractors)

* Experience with and ability to work on multidisciplinary projects

* Ethernet IP, Devicenet, CC-link, ALC, IFIX, GP-Pro, GX Works and GX Developer knowledge

* Experience with Safety PLC's (Pilz, Omron or equivalent)

* Experience setting up Yaskawa/Mitsubishi VFDs, MP3200/MC221/MC421 Servo systems

* Strong understanding of hardwire safety circuits, safety relays and safety devices (Omron/SICK/Pilz)

* Knowledge of relevant Codes including electrical, building, fire, machine guarding, robotic safety, H&S and PHSR's

* Hands on approach to working on and troubleshooting equipment processes and modifications

* Exceptional organization, time management skills and written and verbal communication skills
