Job Description

Manpower is currently hiring for an Site Plant Director to support our client's team, based out of San Fernando, California!



Build, manage and improve on a continuous improvement basis the industrial and supply chain activities of the site, meeting the needs of the customers, reach and optimize the goals in terms of Quality, Cost, Deliveries. Drives the site toward world class industrial and supply chain excellence level.



Is in charge of Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering (Methods), Maintenance and Supply Chain departments

Is the warrant of the production plan matching with customer needs and company targets in terms of Quality, Costs, Deliveries

Monitor, analyse and define/deploy action plan to reach Operational Ratio and Manuf Efficiency budget target

Is in charge to rationalise the use of spaces, introducing appropriate lay-out in order to simplify/optimize processes (including new building layout)

Is in charge to maintain functional interfaces coordination with the other departments of the site (Sales, Procurement, Engineering, R&D, Project Management, Finance, etc.) in order to meet his targets

Implements the relevant and adapted lean manufacturing tools as per WMS (wabtec management system) standards

Monitor SCIP(site continuous improvement plan) deployment and the related improvements as per defined target

Pilots the workshops improvements sessions

Proposes mid-term as well as long term improvements to improve organization and activity,

Analyses the contributions on the different manufactured products to improve their profitability

Is in charge of the budgets of his departments: proposes, optimizes, follows and controls his budget

Manages the S&OP with all necessary departments to ensure the proper forecast of the workload versus capacity

Monitor C-OTD (customer on time delivery), S-OTD (suppliers on time delivery), Sales Forecast Accuracy, Late Deliveries, Inventories with related detailed analysis and improvement action plan

Coordinates and Participates to the recruitments made in his departments

Set, manages and control the targets of the members of his team

Proposes the evolutions of people meeting organization needs

Assures the development of a good level of autonomy in his team

Assures a good work climate

Evaluates and proposes the needs of his teams in terms of trainings, practical and theoretical



Engineering diploma or equivalent level or experience

5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing

Excellent team work spirit

Railway, Automotive or aeronautic industries, or relevant experiences

Fluent English is a must, French and German would be a plus

Customer oriented

Quality and continuous improvement oriented

Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, TPM, FMEA, one-piece flow process, Kaizen, etc.)



Communication and team building strong abilities

Strong leadership skills,

Decision maker

Strong negotiation abilities

Demanding, able to confront with other internal departments and his management



Requirements for this opportunity include High School diploma or equivalency, 1+ year experience in the field or related area, knowledge of common concepts, practices and procedures. Lifting 30+ lbs, consistently throughout the shift. Good attention to details. Candidate must pass a 5-panel drug screen and 7 year background check.



Work Schedule: First Shift , 6:00am - 2:30 pm - Overtime when needed during the week and on Saturdays
